Statistics: Russia’s industrial output rises 3.7% on year in May
MOSCOW, Jun 18 (PRIME) -- Russia’s industrial output rose 3.7% on the year and fell 1.5% on the month in May after rising 3.9% and falling 3.1% in April, respectively, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Monday.
Excluding seasonal and calendar factors, industrial output went up 0.5% in May, the service said.
In January–May, industrial output grew 3.2% on the year.
The service also raised its estimate for the growth of Russia’s industrial output in 2017 to 2.1% from 1%, revising January–March 2017 industrial output growth to 2.9% from 0.1%, April–May growth to 4.5% from 3.8%, and July–September growth to 2.5% from 1.4%. The estimate for the November–December contraction remained at 1.7%.
The Economic Development Ministry expects industrial output in Russia to rise 1.7% in 2018.
